44 cm glass Galileo thermometer with 6 coloured bulbs measuring 18 to 28°C. This version stands out due to its wider range with 2-degree increments.

↕ 44 cm Ø 5 cm

This 44 cm Galileo thermometer is designed for environments where broader temperature variation occurs. Instead of fine 1-degree steps, it measures in 2-degree increments between 18 and 28°C, offering a clear and practical overview. The six coloured bulbs provide a structured and easy-to-read display, while the extended range makes it suitable for spaces such as conservatories or rooms with fluctuating temperatures. The taller design enhances visibility and presence.

The cylinder is made from clear, durable glass that maintains clarity over time. Each bulb is precisely calibrated and fitted with a metal tag corresponding to its temperature level. Manufactured in Germany, this model reflects consistent production standards and reliable performance. Its combination of extended range and clear structure makes it a practical choice for functional use without unnecessary complexity.

About the Galileo thermometer

The Galileo thermometer is based on a principle discovered by Galileo Galilei in the early 17th century: the density of liquids changes with temperature. Each coloured glass bead has been carefully weighted so that it rises or sinks to indicate the current ambient temperature.

Key features

Multicoloured glass beads

  • Brightly coloured beads in various shades for an eye-catching display
  • Easy-to-read metal labels indicating the temperature in °C

High-quality construction

  • 44 cm tall, hand-blown borosilicate glass cylinder
  • Stainless steel stopper for a secure, leak-proof seal
  • Stable metal base to prevent tipping

How it works

When the room temperature changes, the density of the surrounding liquid adjusts. Each coloured sphere has a specific density and will float or sink until it reaches its “neutral buoyancy”. The lowest-floating sphere in the top group indicates the current temperature.
